-
A combined hub
A central hub or a community meeting point is a good idea. The space should cater for all ages, cultural and interest groups.
-
Heritage and history
The heritage value of the Henley Town Hall is important. It has always played an important role in the community and is a feature of Henley Beach.
-
Atmosphere
The current spaces are welcoming and friendly.
-
Children's activities
The Children's activities including story time are very popular.
-
Walkability
People would like to see better pedestrian access from Seaview Road. This would link the building to other places such as Henley Square and Coast Park.
-
Parking
Some say it's easy to park with a dedicated car park. Others have said the parking is used by people not visiting the library or the community centre and can sometimes be difficult.
-
Operating hours
People have suggested extending opening hours and offering programs at different times so they suit a wide range of people in the community.
-
What should a new space offer?
People have suggested the following activities at a new community hub:
- Better technology
- A café or central kitchen
- Arts hub
- Entrepreneurs/start up services
- Green space
- Promote local artists, writers and crafters
- More meeting rooms
- Tourist information
