The report includes five recommendations for the Committee to consider. It seeks Council's approval to grant Amplitel's 20-year exclusive lease request in the amended (northern) lease location on Grange Recreation Reserve.

The report also includes several appendices, including the Community Engagement Reports on the initial and amended lease proposal.

Yes, you can. The public can attend the Committee meeting to listen when the item is discussed. There is no need to RSVP to attend, you can just show up on the night.

The Strategic and Engagement Committee meeting will commence at 7.00pm on Monday, 19 May and will be held in room CC1 at City of Charles Sturt’s Civic Centre at 72 Woodville Road, Woodville.

Public can request to speak at the meeting (a deputation) before any decisions are made on the item. This is called a Deputation Request. Requests are limited and are subject to approval from the Chair.

Deputation request forms must be submitted before 10am on the day of the meeting (so before 10am Monday, 19 May) to be considered.

Any decisions made by the Committee on Monday, 19 May will go to Council for final consideration on Monday evening, 26 May. Community can also attend this meeting and make a deputation request before a final decision is made.

No community updates will be provided before the Council meeting of 26 May. If you miss the decisions of the Committee on 19 May, you can see what was decided in the meeting by viewing the Committee meeting Agenda & Minutes page on Council’s public website a few days following the meeting.

We will share the final decision/s of Council on Amplitlel’s lease request with project followers and engagement participants who shared an email address with us. If Council decides to approve the lease in the amended, northern location, Amplitel will need to submit a Development Application for their construction plans on that site (eg for the tower and equipment shed). This will be subject to development approval and most likely a legislated period of public notice to allow for feedback on the proposed infrastructure.

The Development Application is a separate, legislated process and is not part of the community engagement on the lease proposal. Further updates from this stage onwards from Your Say Charles Sturt will be limited.
