What is a playground renewal?

A playground renewal is the replacement of an existing playground with like-for-like equipment or equipment of a similar 'play value' to what’s already there.

There are no playgrounds currently out for consultation.

Ready, Set, Play! Recently Completed Playground Renewals

  • The Avenue Reserve

    The Avenue Reserve playground is classified as a "Neighbourhood" playground located on The Avenue x Gateshead Street, Athol Park.

    All play equipment will be replaced, including the woodchip, rubber soft fall and playground edging.

  • First Avenue Reserve

    First Avenue Reserve playground is classified as a "Neighbourhood" playground located on First Avenue, Seaton.

    All play equipment will be replaced, including the woodchip, rubber soft fall and playground edging.

  • Croydon Playground Reserve

    Croydon Playground Reserve has two playgrounds - a junior and senior playground. It's classified as a higher "Neighbourhood" play space located on Day Terrace, West Croydon.

    All play equipment on both playgrounds is being replaced, including the woodchip, soft fall and edging.

  • Grange Recreation Reserve

    Grange Recreation Reserve has two playgrounds (one on the eastern-side and one on the western-side. It's classified as "District" play space located on Fort Street and on Military Road, Grange.

    All equipment in both playgrounds will be replaced, including the woodchip, soft fall and edging.

  • River Park Reserve

    River Park Reserve playground is a higher "Neighbourhood" playground located on Moorfield Terrace, Allenby Gardens. This playground renewal has been brought forward following the new Riverside Development.

    Two swing sets and the existing play structure will be replaced. The existing standing rope and basket swings will stay as they are.
