HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?

Project Background

Josiah Mitton Reserve is located in Brompton and is also in close proximity to Brompton Green Reserve. Both reserves are important ‘district’ spaces, providing walking and cycling connections, and a variety of experiences including play, fitness, picnics, half-court basketball, ball games and areas for dog exercise. Josiah Mitton Reserve is also home to the decommissioned Hindmarsh Incinerator, which is a State Heritage listed building located on the southern edge of the reserve. The reserve is listed as a Neighbourhood Park under the reserve hierarchy as defined by the Open Space Strategy.

We have allocated funding to undertake a Masterplan design for Josiah Mitton Reserve in the 2021/22 financial year to inform improvements at the reserve should future funding be allocated. The masterplan will also consider future opportunities at Brompton Green Reserve.

JPE Design Studio are undertaking this project on Council’s behalf and together we would like to understand how you currently use the reserves and what activities and ideas you may have for them in the future.

We also want to hear your thoughts on what experiences make up a fun and memorable trip to the park so we can get the design right for all users.
