The final consultation outcomes report was presented to the Asset Management Committee on Tuesday 19 April 2022.
The following motion was endorsed by Council on Tuesday 26 April 2022:
4.24 AMEND COMMUNITY LAND MANAGEMENT PLANS ‐ FAWK RESERVE AND ST CLAIR GREENWAY ‐ CONSULTATION FEEDBACK
- That Community feedback received from the public consultation process to amend the Community Land Management Plans for St Clair Greenway and Fawk Reserve shown at Appendix 3 are noted and acknowledged by Council.
- That the Community Land Management Plan for St Clair Greenway as shown in Appendix 1 be amended pursuant to Section 198 (1) of the Local Government Act 1999.
- That the Community Land Management Plan for Fawk Reserve as shown in Appendix 2 be amended pursuant to Section 198 (1) of the Local Government Act 1999.
We will now work with the community to establish the community garden in Location A (refer map below) and will be in touch shortly with everyone that indicated that they would like to be involved with the garden.
Council is proposing to amend the Community Land Management Plan for Fawk Reserve.
The proposed amendments have resulted from numerous community requests for Council to construct and operate a community garden in the area.
Staff have identified Fawk Reserve as an appropriate location because of the space and amenities available. There is a separate consultation on our YourSay page with additional information about the construction and operation of the garden for your consideration and feedback.
However, to prior Council committing to the construction of a community garden it must first amend the Community Land Management Plan which governs the activities and development that can occur on the Reserve. The Community Land Management Plan for Fawk Reserve does not currently support community gardening activities or construction relating to a community garden.
Community Consultation to Amend the CLMP
A draft amended Community Land Management Plan has been prepared for public consultation which would enable the community garden to proceed. The Plan has the proposed amendments highlighted for ease of identifying the additional information that has been added to allow for the operation and construction of a community garden on the site.
We are now seeking your feedback for the amendments to the CLMP, consultation commences Thursday 10 March 2022 and closed COB Thursday 31 March 2022, Staff will also be onsite Saturday 12 March from 10:00am to 11:00am to meet with you to discuss the CLMP and Community Garden.
In conjunction with the CLMP consultation we are also seeking your feedback relating to the establishment of the community garden itself - You can provide your feedback here.
The final consultation outcomes report will now be presented to the Asset Management Committee on Tuesday 19 April 2022.
The Asset Management Committee Agenda and report will be available for viewing after 4:00pm on Thursday 14 April 2022.
Any persons wanting to make a deputation will be required to have submitted their deputation request to Council by 10:00am on Tuesday 19 April 2022.
