Proposed BMX Track

Following overwhelming community support from our initial consultation, we are proposing to build a new BMX track at Grange Recreation Reserve.

During December 2025 and January 2026 we surveyed our local Grange community and asked what you think of the idea of a new BMX track at Grange Recreation Reserve. Engagement activities included a letterbox drop to approximately 930 nearby properties, signage at the reserve, online and hardcopy survey, and information on Your Say Charles Sturt. We received responses from 265 people with 92% of survey respondents indicating they live nearby and 67% visiting Grange Recreation Reserve at least weekly.

The survey shows that 90% of survey respondents support a new BMX track at Grange Recreation Reserve. We heard strong support for a BMX dirt track that accommodates mixed ability design with areas for different skill levels.

Based on your valuable feedback, we are proposing a BMX track with two zones:

  • Zone 1 (Beginner): Designed for beginner riders and positioned near the playground to provide a safer experience for younger children while maintaining playground safety.
  • Zone 2 (Intermediate): Intended for intermediate skill level riders and situated in an existing depression in the landscape (see concept plan for detail).

The two zone design is similar to the layout at Apex Park, West Beach.

We now invite your feedback on the draft layout and design. Help us shape the Grange BMX track.

  1. Come to our community drop-in at Grange Royals Hockey Club, Fort Street, Grange Recreation Reserve on Saturday, 16 May 2026, drop in anytime between 9.00am and 11.00am.
  2. Complete our online survey by Wednesday 27 May 2026.

Hardcopy survey forms are also available in the document library on this page or from our Council Offices, Ngutungka Henley and Ngutungka West Lakes.
