The proposal

We have received a request from the Woodville West Torrens Football Club (WWTFC) for a new playground at Woodville Oval.

As part of our 2026/27 budget process, we are asking the community what you think about this idea and what you’d like to see included.

We’ve reviewed possible locations around the oval and, in consultation with the Football Club, identified the south-west corner of the oval as the preferred location. You can view the location plan below.

This area was chosen because of:

  • its closeness to the family-friendly area on game days
  • the location of existing trees
  • the site levels (how flat or sloped the ground is)
  • good access for the wider community.

Why we are asking for your feedback

While the proposal originated from requests by the Woodville West Torrens Football Club, any new playground would be a public facility for the whole community.

We’d like to understand how the community currently uses the oval and whether there are opportunities to improve access outside club training and game times, as well as to find out community expectations of access to a playground whilst games are on.

We’d like to understand:

  • whether you support a new playground at Woodville Oval
  • what children would like to see in the playground
  • what features would be most enjoyable and useful for everyone who uses this space.

Your feedback will help us decide whether to proceed and, if we do, what to include in the concept design.

Where is the playground being proposed?

The proposed location is indicative and may take up some or all of the space, dependent on the final design outcomes.

Share your feedback!

We’d like to know if you support this idea and to hear any other suggestions that could help shape the design of a playground at Woodville Oval.

What happens next?

  • If there is little community support, the project may not proceed.
  • If there is community support, we will develop a draft concept design for the playground.
  • We'll share the draft concept design with the community for further feedback in early 2026.
  • Everyone who has provided feedback will be kept updated on the outcomes.
