Now that the community has assisted in the development of the draft masterplan (image below), there are additional steps to take prior to a final masterplan being completed.

Next Steps by Council for the next two financial years:

  • Undertake formal community consultation in accordance with our Public Consultation Policy on the draft Masterplan – 2022/23
  • Detailed design of the masterplan following consultation outcomes – 2022/23
  • Endorse final masterplan and detailed designs, and seek funding to construct in 2023/24

Project Background

Woodlake Reserve, West Lakes has frontages on Frederick Road, Maramba Avenue, Woodlake Avenue and Lochside Drive. The reserve currently has a single seat within an irrigated open space, a variety of large shade trees and vegetation, and is located close to local shops to the north-east, and Tiranna Reserve to the west. The reserve caters for a range of passive recreation such as ball games, quiet reflection and dog exercise. The reserve is listed as a Local Park under the reserve hierarchy as defined by the Open Space Strategy.

We have allocated funding to undertake a Masterplan design for Woodlake Reserve in the 2021/22 financial year to inform improvements at the reserve should future funding be allocated.

JPE Design Studio are undertaking this project on Council’s behalf and together we would like to understand how you currently use the reserves and what activities and ideas you may have for the future.

We also want to hear your thoughts on what experiences make up a fun and memorable trip to the park so we can get the design right for all users.
