St Clair Recreation Centre Car Park Extension

15 December 2025

In the recent St Clair Community Facility and Precinct Upgrades update, we shared that construction of the planned extension to the St Clair Recreation Centre is expected to be delivered in 2026. A concept plan for the car park extension is now available to view (refer image below).

The area of the car park extension is often used by visitors to St Clair Recreation Centre as overflow car parking when the formal car park is full. The car park extension is a standalone project to service visitors to the recreation centre, separate to the planned community facility and sports upgrades, and future parking changes to better support Ovals 2, 3 and 4.

The recreation centre car park extension will:

  • Deliver approximately 50 new car parking spaces to service patrons and visitors to the recreation centre, playground and skate park.
  • Provide a new entry and exit point to the car park off St Clair Avenue.
  • Protect and retain all established or existing and healthy trees, with limited tree removals (9 only) of either juvenile trees or non-regulated established trees (including diseased, dying or pest-classified trees).
  • Result in approximately 30 new trees planted - a net increase of 21 trees to what's there now.

The timing of construction of the car park is expected to be sometime in 2026, depending on the selected contractor and site conditions. Further update will be provided closer to the time.
