Project Background

Council is proposing to amend the Community Land Management Plan for St Clair Greenway.

The proposed amendments have resulted from numerous community requests for Council to construct and operate a community garden in the area.

Staff have identified St Clair Greenway as an appropriate location because of the space and amenities available. There is a separate consultation on our YourSay page with additional information about the construction and operation of the garden for your consideration and feedback.

However, to prior Council committing to the construction of a community garden it must first amend the Community Land Management Plan which governs the activities and development that can occur on the Reserve. The Community Land Management Plan for St Clair Greenway does not currently support community gardening activities or construction relating to a community garden.

Community Consultation to Amend the CLMP

A draft amended Community Land Management Plan has been prepared for public consultation which would enable the community garden to proceed. The draft CLMP has the proposed amendments highlighted for ease of identifying the additional information that has been added to allow for the operation and construction of a community garden on the site.

We are now seeking your feedback for the amendments to the CLMP, consultation commences Thursday 10 March 2022 and closed COB Thursday 31 March 2022, Staff will also be onsite Saturday 12 March from 12:00pm to 1:00pm to meet with you to discuss the CLMP and Community Garden.

In conjunction with the CLMP consultation we are also seeking your feedback relating to the establishment of the community garden itself - You can provide your feedback here for the St Clair Community Garden.
