Help shape these streets

As part of the road renewal process, we want to hear from the local community to better understand how the following four streets are currently used and experienced by different users.

  • Eleventh Street, Bowden
  • Frogmore Road, Kidman Park
  • Pitman Avenue, Woodville West
  • Victoria Street, Henley Beach

This engagement will help identify opportunities to enhance the streetscape and public realm where feasible, including considerations such as pedestrian amenity, cycling, parking, landscaping and other place-based improvements.

We would love to hear your ideas, experiences and suggestions for the future. Tell us what is working well and what could be improved. Your suggestions will help shape the future of your local street.

Frequently Asked Questions

Road infrastructure naturally deteriorates over time due to traffic loading, weather conditions and general wear. If not addressed, this deterioration can impact safety, ride quality and the overall performance of the transport network. To maintain a safe and reliable road network, Council undertakes ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction of road assets.

Council has developed a four-year road renewal program that identifies streets scheduled for renewal based on asset condition assessments and strategic asset management planning. These renewal projects provide an opportunity not only to restore road function and safety, but also to consider broader improvements to the street environment.

Integrating community insight into the renewal process supports Council’s goal of delivering infrastructure that not only maintains essential assets but also contributes to safer, more functional and more liveable streets.

We will report on what we heard and summarise the key outcomes of the engagement activity in a Community Engagement Report. This report could be used to highlight opportunities or inform plans to improve the streets in the future.

We can then work to understand the cost and budget required to deliver identified and supported improvements, which will allow funding opportunities or sources to be investigated.

If funding is secured or can be made available in future, we could prioritise one or more identified improvements for delivery or potentially deliver improvements that align with other projects scheduled in the area.

The first step for us is investigating local and community views about amenity and movement on the streets. The outcomes of what we hear will help us to understand what's important and will support future planning and prioritisation of projects. There are no plans or funding available to support immediate improvements to these streets. There is also no commitment that the findings of this engagement will result in immediate or future works in the street.
