We're now seeking feedback on the proposed concept before progressing to detailed design.
Your input will help us refine the project and ensure the final design reflects the needs of the local community.

What we are proposing:

In response to community feedback and further investigation, we’re proposing to:

  • Renew the road, kerb and gutter from Findon Road to Alma Terrace
  • Install a new roundabout at the intersection of Pitman Avenue and James Street to improve consistency through the suburb and help reduce vehicle speeds
  • Install a raised concrete median at the staggered May Street intersection to improve safety by preventing vehicles from cutting corners and making unsafe turns
  • Replace footpaths on both sides of the street
  • Upgrade the pedestrian crossing ramps
  • Additional tree planting

What we heard:

What we heard from the Issues and Opportunities consultation:

Below is a very brief overview. If you would like to read more, please visit the document library for the full Community Engagement Report.

What has happened so far?

We invited feedback from anyone who lives, works or owns property in or near Pitman Avenue or who travels through the area about how the street could be improved. We are looking at Pitman Avenue from Findon Road to Alma Terrace.

We were particularly interested in hearing your thoughts or ideas about:

  • Street appeal and the overall look and feel of the street.
  • Ease of active transport for people walking, cycling, driving (or similar)
  • Street Trees and nature strips
  • Parking and Traffic
  • Safety and Accessibility

You're welcome to share other general feedback about the street unrelated to the elements listed above and we will note your feedback or requests for consideration, however the categories listed above are a primary focus for potential improvements in future.
