Hindmarsh Parking Plan

The City of Charles Sturt has engaged transport planners from a consultancy Intermethod, to prepare a Parking Plan for the suburb of Hindmarsh.

Based on engagement feedback and background investigations, the project team has prepared the draft Hindmarsh Parking Plan, which sets out:

• overall car parking management strategies for the area
• proposed changes to timed parking controls for individual streets.

Background

Between October and December 2017, Charles Sturt staff and the consultant team prepared and mailed out a survey (with 75 responses), conducted business and customer interviews (with 39 responses), and held a workshop with local businesses, residents and members of community organisations on 17 October 2017 (attended by 24 people). We received feedback from over 120 business owners, employees, residents and customers from around 550 properties in the study area. In addition to the consultation process, Intermethod conducted background studies and a car parking occupancy survey, which assessed how all car parking spaces were used on a typical weekday throughout local streets.
