Thank you to everyone who provided feedback in 2024 on the proposed alignment of the Grange Lakes Share Use Path (Stages 7 & 8). We've since refined the plans to comply with environmental legislation and protect important trees.

These changes will help us keep more trees, protect canopy cover, and better connect the path with surrounding open space, creating environmental ecological, and community benefits.

While parts of the alignment will differ slightly form what was originally presented to the community, the overall objectives of the project remain unchanged. The revised path will continue to provide a safe, accessible, and connected route for walking and cycling, supporting active travel and improving local connectivity.

Stage 7 Update

Construction of Stage 7 (Marlborough Street to North Street) is expected to begin in early 2026 (around February - March).

We'll keep the community updated once a contractor is appointed. Closer to the time, information will also be available onsite and at www.charlessturt.sa.gov.au/grangelakescorridor.

Stage 8 (North Street to Atkin Street)
A revised concept for Stage 8 is now available (in the document library) with some minor adjustments to the alignment.

Changes include:

• A new section of boardwalk near the car park entrance to provide a dry, safe path during winter months.
• A small connecting footpath to White Street to improve local access.

While some tree removals will be necessary, we are committed to replanting across the project area. Replacement trees will be selected to enhance canopy cover and provide long-term environmental value.
