Project Update

Project Information

We have received several requests from local residents with concerns about cut through traffic and speed along Euston Terrace.

A review of traffic conditions was undertaken which identified that approximately 220 vehicles use Euston Terrace each day, and 85% of these drivers are travelling at or below 43km/h.

A budget has been allocated for the 2022/23 financial year for new traffic calming devices to be implemented along Euston Terrace, Croydon / West Croydon.

Rubber speed cushions were identified as a cost-effective traffic calming device to reduce traffic speeds, given the low volume of traffic.

What are Rubber Speed Cushions?

  • Rubber speed cushions are a cost-effective alternative to traditional road humps.
  • They are raised devices designed to slow drivers.
  • Rubber speed cushions are evenly spaced along the entire length of a road, at approximately 80-120 metre intervals and located within 50m of the start of the road where possible.

We are seeking feedback from residents of Euston Terrace on the proposal to implement rubber speed cushions to address the traffic safety issues for this location.
