Current leash laws:

  • Dogs can be off lead if under effective control at any time.
  • Dogs must be on lead (no more than 2 metres) on any other footpath outside of the outlined Coast Park area by virtue of the Dog and Cat Management Act 1995 (the Act).

Options for new dog leash laws:

  • Dogs must be on lead at all times (no more than 2 metres in length).
  • Dog off lead within the specified Coast Park reserve area (no more than 2 metres in length).
  • Other ideas (please tell us your ideas)
