Consultation report now available

1 June 2023

Thank you to the community members who provided feedback during the consultation period. A total of 34 written submissions were received, and several people attended our community drop-in event or made a deputation (verbal submission) to Council.

Most submissions related to budget bids listed in the Draft Annual Business Plan 2023/24; others included new budget bid suggestions; and some raised general concerns.

Budget bids attracting strong support included the weekly FOGO (Food Organics Garden Organics) trial, Semaphore SLSC changing places and DDA Amenities, and Point Malcolm Beach Access Way DDA upgrade. Matters attracting concern included rate increases and budget costs, the need for a greater focus on greening and climate change, and concern over the need to purchase carbon offsets.

A report will be presented to the Corporate Services Committee Meeting on Monday 5 June 2023 commencing at 6.00pm, and the agenda is now available.

A report will then be presented to a Council Meeting in June 2023 for final adoption of Council’s Annual Business Plan and Budget 2023/24.

Following adoption, a summary of the Plan will accompany the first rates notice for the financial year and the Annual Business Plan and Budget 2023/24 will be available on our City of Charles Sturt website and at the Council Offices for your information.
