Heritage Places DPA

Council has prepared a Heritage Places Development Plan Amendment (DPA), which has now been released for public and agency consultation. The DPA has come into operation on an interim basis pursuant to Section 28 of the Development Act 1993. This is to ensure that any development which occurs in relation to the proposed Local Heritage Places (LHPs) during the public consultation period does so in a manner which is sympathetic to their heritage values.

The DPA seeks to:

  • List 64 Local Heritage Places (LHPs).
  • Delete one LHP, which was demolished as part of the Torrens to Torrens South Road Upgrade (T2T project).
  • Delete 213 Contributory Items (CI) for various reasons (eg 26 items are proposed as LHPs, 82 items were demolished as part of the T2T project, and 105 items have either been demolished or were recommended by consultants to be removed from the list of CIs).
  • Make changes to the Heritage Overlay maps to reflect the above changes.

We are now seeking community feedback on the DPA.

Written submissions can also be sent via mail or email to John Tagliaferri, Senior Policy Planner, City of Charles Sturt, PO Box 1, Woodville SA 5011 or jtagliaferri@charlessturt.sa.gov.au.

Those making a submission can also request to be heard at a public meeting scheduled for 6pm on Monday 19 February 2018. This meeting will allow anyone to make a verbal representation on the draft DPA or any written submission. The public meeting may not be held if no one requests to be heard.

All written submissions will be public documents and made vailable for viewing at the Civic Centre and online from the end of the consultation period until the conlusion of the public meeting.

Consultation closes Friday 10 November 2017.
