Henley Beach Road Main Street

Consultation has concluded

In response to requests and petitions from local community and business the City of Charles Sturt conducted a review of Henley Beach Road, between William Avenue and the Esplanade. Review outcomes identified an opportunity to upgrade the traffic, parking and pedestrian links in this popular stretch of road.

The aim of the Henley Beach Main Street project is to

  • improve safety and functionality of the road by providing a narrower slow speed environment,
  • improve access to, and across, the road for cyclists, vehicles and pedestrians.
  • improve street aesthetics and upgrade landscaping where opportunities arise.

Consultation to date

A concept designs were distributed to local community and businesses via mail out for feedback purposes in February 2014. Further community feedback was sought at a workshop held at Henley High School. The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) also reviewed the plans and advised on required alterations.

Concept designs have now been refined, as per feedback received, and are available for viewing and comment.
